Citizen-Science

The continuance of scientific development relies on bridging the gap between scientists and the general public. To achieve this, citizen-science is an amazing technique to not only easily gather new data, but it also involves local people in the scientific investigations happening in their area. The involvement in projects allows the general public to directly engage with environmental impacts, passing on scientific knowledge.

This citizen-science pitch addresses young children being an unrepresented group in science. Their natural curiosities contribute ideas that may usually be overlooked by adults and scientists. Including children in environmental science is an easy way to gather baseline data, connecting them to their local environment and it also teaches and develops key scientific skills that they will carry through life.
